Dr. Zohra Awan is the founder and owner of Princeton AcuHealth. Dr. Awan earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM). She is board-certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
In addition to Pacific College's Acupuncture Clinic, Dr. Awan has worked in regional hospitals, including NYU Langone Medical Center in the treatment of disabilities and joint diseases, and Beth Israel Medical Center's Comprehensive Cancer Center (BICCC) in cancer care and the treatment of chemotherapy and radiation side effects. Dr. Awan has experience in treating pain, acute and chronic ailments, musculoskeletal disorders, neurological conditions, autoimmune disorders, digestive disorders, and gynecological disorders. Her special areas of interest include Women's Health, Fertility and ART/IVF support, & Pediatrics.
Prior to her graduate studies at PCOM, Dr. Awan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and completed the pre-medical curriculum from The College of New Jersey. During this time she also worked with Dr. Philip Bonnet of The Healing Partnership, a pioneer of integrative medicine who incorporates homeopathy and orthomolecular medicine into his clinic. This invaluable experience has given her keen insight into an integrative approach to healthcare. Her combined studies in pre-med and psychology, coupled with her personal and familial experiences with holistic medicine, fueled her passion for helping others through acupuncture and herbal medicine. Dr. Awan is committed to facilitating her patients' physical and emotional well-being. Her goal as an acupuncturist and herbalist is not only to treat her patients' conditions, but to improve their overall quality of life and empower them on their journey towards healing.
